OhioMHAS posts new proposed rule on gender transition care
On January 5, 2024, OhioMHAS posted for public comment one new proposed rule, O.A.C. 5122-26-19, Gender transition care, and an amendment to O.A.C. 5122-14-12, Program, specialty services and discharge planning requirements. Following review and consideration of the comments received during the comment period, OhioMHAS has made changes which are reflected in a revised version of O.A.C. 5122-26-19 and, in lieu of amendment to O.A.C. 5122-14-12, creation of a new supplemental rule to O.A.C. 5122-14-12, numbered O.A.C. 5122-14-12.1.

The rules have been submitted to the Common Sense Initiative (CSI) Office for review. Comments regarding the rules can be submitted through the link on the OhioMHAS website. Comments submitted through this link will be submitted to both OhioMHAS and the CSI Office. Alternatively, comments may be sent separately to OhioMHAS at MH-SOT-GTC1-rules@mha.ohio.gov and to the CSI Office at CSIPublicComments@governor.ohio.gov.
