Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, registered nurses and advanced practice nurses treating patients who may benefit from medical cannabis. This activity will discuss the physiology of the endocannabinoid system, the pharmacology, toxicology, side effects, risks and benefits of medical cannabis and its constituents in a variety of medical conditions.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
Describe the basic physiology of the endocannabinoid system
Describe the pharmacology, toxicology, and side effects of medical cannabis and its constituents
Assess the risks and benefits of cannabinoid therapy with individual patients, based on available research, and identify good candidates for treatment
Create specific cannabis or cannabinoid treatment plans for patients
This program is approved for 2 hours of AOA Category 1-A credits.
