Medical Marijuana Education Course

CME Virtual Program presented by Charles V. Barrett, DO

The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program allows people with certain medical conditions, upon the recommendation of an Ohio-licensed physician certified by the State Medical Board, to purchase and use medical marijuana.

Certificate to Recommend (CTR)
DOs and MDs with a full, unrestricted Ohio license are eligible to apply for the certificate to recommend (CTR). There is no fee for the CTR. An applicant must complete at least two hours of continuing medical education in a course or courses certified by the Ohio Osteopathic Association or the OSMA that assist physicians in both of the following:

(a) Diagnosing qualifying medical conditions as defined in section 3796.01 of the Revised Code;

(b) Treating qualifying medical conditions with medical marijuana, including the characteristics of medical marijuana and possible drug interactions.

This Medical Marijuana Education Course is certified by the Ohio Osteopathic Association and meets the education requirements set forth by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

The Ohio Osteopathic Foundation is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The Ohio Osteopathic Foundation designated this program for a maximum of 2 hours of AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits in accordance with the extent of the physicians' participation in this activity.
